Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James has been the most complete player in the NBA for the past several years, but there has always been one aspect of his game that still left some major room for improvement - his free-throw shooting.
James is shooting just 73 percent from the foul line this season and 74.4 percent for his career, never finishing a season shooting above 78 percent from the stripe.
James missed three straight free throws late in the game in a blowout win over the Magic and one foul shot with less than a minute to play against the Thunder, and heavily critized himself on both occasions, saying they made him "extremely mad" and was "awful."
“Free-throw shooting is all mental,” James said. “Obviously there is some technique, of course. But it’s mental. I’ve always had ambitions to shoot in the high 80s. I’ve been shooting them extremely well the last couple weeks, so I have to continue my routine, continue to put in the work as I’ve been and live with the results.”
James is averaging 26.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists per game so far this season.
