Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is expected to return to the court tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers after missing Saturday's loss to the Heat. Cavs head coach David Blatt said James was out due to rest as their game in Miami was the second of a back-to-back, and LeBron says he's ready to go.
“It was more about the health. I want to be healthy enough where I can play all 82. My health has been questioned and people have been talking a lot about what I’ve done over the course of my season. I’ve always predicated my game off of how I treat my body and protect my body. A lot of people think I just go out and I just play. It was a whole mindset of saying I want to be available for 82 games if needed and to this point, I have been.”
James' return is also coming at a key time for the Cavaliers, who have lost three straight and dropped out of first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time in nearly a month. Blatt isn't worried, saying the Cavs just need to play with more urgency.
“I think we need to have a greater sense of urgency regarding right now, not regarding what will happen in April. We need to get back on track. We were on track and we fell off a little bit and we need to get back on track.”
The Cavs play the Trail Blazers at 7:00 pm ET tonight at Quicken Loans Arena, and will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio.
