The Cleveland Cavaliers enter this week with a 9-7 record and are in fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. The Cavs have won four games in a row due to their offense starting to click averaging 112 points over their last three games. The Cavs offense hasn't been the issue for this team, it's their lack of defense which will be the Achilles heel of this team going forward. Standings:
It's obviously still very early, but the Cavs currently sit fourth place in the Eastern Conference at 9-7 However, they're two games out of third place (Toronto Raptors 11-5). They are also two games back from the Detroit Pistons in Central.
This Week:
The Cavs had three games this past week and won all three of them. They started the week with the New York Knicks winning 104 - 101 but there was a small feud broke out when Lebron James and Enes Kanter starting getting into a heated discussion. The Cavs then traveled to Charlotte where they ended their road trip with a 115 - 107 win over the Hornets.
The Cavs ended the week with a win at home over the Clippers scoring 118 points in overtime. They did, however, give up 113 points to the Clippers which marks the 13th game in a row where the Cavs have allowed 100 points or more.
What's Next?
The Cavs will wrap up their three-game homestand with the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Charlotte Hornets before traveling to Philadelphia to play the Sixers. Read more Cavs news in the Chat Sports iPhone and Android apps.
Injuries:
Point guard Isaiah Thomas remains out with the hip injury but participated in Sunday's practice. Iman Shumpert is out 5-7 days to undergo treatment in his knee
Derrick Rose will miss will miss another two weeks with an ankle injury.
