It happened. It finally happened.
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have won the NBA title, ending the city's 52-year drought without a professional sports championship by beating the Golden State Warriors 93-89 in Game 7. By doing so, they've also become the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the Finals.
The first half was tight throughout as neither team was able to gain a sizable advantage, but Golden State closed the half on a 11-4 run, giving them a 49-42 lead at the break.
That lead was short lived, however, as the Cavs reeled off a huge run at the start of the third quarter. Kyrie Irving spearheaded a 28-14 spurt to give Cleveland a seven-point lead of their own, yet the Warriors managed to come back and take a 76-75 lead into the fourth.
Both sides continued to trade the lead back and forth, and the game remained tied 89-89 for four frantic minutes, until Irving drained a three with just over 50 seconds left.

Stephen Curry forced a three-pointer he missed on the ensuing possession, and James iced the game with a free throw.
LeBron led the way for the Cavs by recording a triple-double with 27 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds, while Kyrie Irving contributed 26 points. Kevin Love also played his best game of the series, accounting for nine points and 13 rebounds.
For the Warriors, the loss marks a disappointing end to the best regular season in NBA history - putting them on par with the 18-1 New England Patriots. They also blew their chance at winning back-to-back titles despite having a 3-1 series lead.
Green stepped up to lead Golden State with 32 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists, which helped make up for the struggles of Curry and Thompson. The Splash Brothers combined for just 31 points and 12/36 shooting, and it wasn't enough.
