The Cleveland Cavs have been rumored to surveying all options from a roster standpoint this offseason, with a potential trade for Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love not out of the realm of possibility.
However, according to Jackie McMullan of ESPNBoston.com, Cleveland isn't on Love's list when it comes to potential destinations:
Cleveland has the No.1 pick and has interest in Love, sources confirm, but the feeling isn’t mutual.
As Dan Feldman of NBC's Pro Basketball Talk points out, that doesn't mean that all is lost for the Cavs: "In Irving and one of the Joel Embiid/Andrew Wiggins/Jabari Parker trio, the Cavaliers have a solid young core. If one of their other recent high picks – Anthony Bennett, Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson – reaches near-star status, even better. But either way, there’s enough to build on."
Feldman argues that adding a "disgruntled Love" to the mix would only serve to hamper that growth. Whether the Cavs are willing to take that chance is still up in the air.
