LeBron James has put the Cleveland Cavs on his back en route to an Eastern Conference Final berth. However, that doesn't mean NBA fans are done throwing shade at The King.
A sports poll conducted by Public Policy Polling found that 34 percent of those answering their survey (out of a total of 1,471 registered voters) believe Michael Jordan would beat LeBron James in a game of 1-on-1...right now.
Michael Jordan, principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets, is 52 years old.
Voters were asked initially whether they considered His Airness or LeBron as the best player of all time. 77 percent picked Jordan, 14 percent said LeBron, and the last nine percent said they weren’t sure. The follow-up question asked whether a 52-year-old MJ could take down LeBron in a 1-on-1 pickup game...
in 2015.
A stunning 34 percent said Jordan would win. 54 percent picked LBJ and 12 percent said they weren’t sure, bringing the total of those not fully buying into a James win to a staggering 46 percent.
In a similar poll on ESPN, 36 percent picked Jordan over LeBron.
Because of course they did.
So what have we learned? Well, although LeBron is in prime athletic shape and Jordan has been off the court for over a decade, a solid number of fans believe than MJ has a Superman cape under his three-piece suit.
Or they just hate LeBron. Either way.
