Cleveland's All-Star forward Kevin Love was hit in the ribs during practice on Tuesday and was taken out for the rest of the day as a precaution.
Head coach David Blatt told reporters that Love "got banged [around] a little bit" but made it clear that Love was fine.
The six-year veteran has had a multitude of injuries during his career, most notably during the 2012-13 season in which he played in only 18 games due to knee surgery and breaking his right hand twice.
The Cavaliers open their season Thursday night at home against the New York Knicks.
Love averaged 25.1 ppg and 12.4 rpg for game last season for Minnesota, and is expected to have a big impact on the Cavs this season.
