Cleveland and San Antonio went back and forth throughout the entire game, but the Spurs held a slim advantage at the half, leading 64-62 at the break. San Antonio created a little bit more of a cushion in the second half, but Kyrie Irving led a furious Cavs rally in the fourth quarter and hit a buzzer-beater to force overtime. Cleveland remained in control from there and stole the win.
Turning Point:
Cleveland closed the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run thanks to two late three's from Irving, storming all the way back to force overtime. San Antonio played well in the overtime frame, but the Cavs had too much momentum.
Cleveland MVP:
Kyrie Irving absolutely dominated the game for the Cavs, dropping a NBA season-high 57 points while coming up with four steals. LeBron James also played well against the defending champs, scoring 31 points while dishing out seven assists and grabbing five rebounds.
San Antonio MVP:
Tony Parker continued to break out of his season long slump, playing an all-around game with 31 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Kawhi Leonard also out-dueled LeBron for most of the game, scoring 24 points with nine rebounds and six assists, but the two late free throws he missed with three seconds left kept the door open for Cleveland's comeback.
