Oklahoma City took the early lead in this one, but Cleveland responded with a strong second quarter to take a 57-49 lead into halftime. The Thunder battled back, but they were never able to retake the lead as the Cavs held on for the hard-fought victory.
Turning Point:
OKC had tied the game up with less than a minute to play in the third quarter, but the Cavs responded with a 13-2 run to regain control of the game.
Key Stat:
Oklahoma City really struggled from the field in this one, partially because of Cleveland's defense and partially because they just had an off night. They shot just 39.4 percent from the field, including a dismal 33.3 percent from long range
Cleveland MVP:
LeBron James notched his seventh straight game with over 25 points (he had 34 in this one) along with seven rebounds and five assists. Kevin Love also chipped in with a big double-double (19 points, 13 rebounds).
Oklahoma City MVP:
Kevin Durant had his usual great scoring performance (32 points), but he also set a season-high with nine assists. Russell Westbrook also played well, nearly getting a triple-double with 22 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists.
What’s Next?
Cleveland travels to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Tuesday, while OKC returns home to face the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow.
