Cleveland used a strong defensive performance in the first half to take a 47-35 lead into the break, but Philadelphia came out swinging in the third quarter. They were able to cut the lead to two in the second half, but the Cavs were able to answer and hang on for the victory.
Turning Point:
The Sixers cut Cleveland's lead to two at the start of the fourth quarter, but the Cavs responded with a quick 8-0 run, allowing them to keep Philly at arm's length.
Key Stat:
The Cavs were able to maintain control of this game and keep their lead because of their timely, efficient three-point shooting. They made 12 of 27 on the night, shoot for 44.4 percent.
Cleveland MVP:
Kyrie Irving played well, continuing his hot streak with 24 points, five rebounds, and five assists. LeBron James was also a big difference maker, dropping 18 points and dishing out 11 assists.
Philadelphia MVP:
Forward Jerami Grant had a huge performance off the bench for the Sixers, scoring 18 points on 5/7 shooting, not missing until the fourth quarter. Robert Covington also played well with 18 points and seven steals.
What’s Next?
Cleveland will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, while Philadelphia returns home to face the Denver Nuggets tomorrow night.
