Cleveland came out on fire early and broke this game open in the second quarter, taking a 65-42 lead into halftime. Nothing changed after the break as the Cavs led 94-63 going into the fourth quarter, but the Clippers' reserves closed the game on a 22-3 run to make the final score look a lot more respectable then the game actually was.
Key Stat:
Cleveland's offense was obviously flowing tonight, and they were able to shoot 43.1 percent from the field because of the way they moved the ball on that end of the floor. They assisted on 23 of 31 of their field goals, including 17 of their 24 first-half field goals.
The game really got away from the Clippers in the third quarter when they lost their cool. They were called for four technical fouls in the quarter - including three in a 52 second period - and finished the game with five technicals and one flagrant foul.
Cleveland MVP:
The Cavs only played their starters for three quarters, but Kevin Love still managed to break out of his slump in a big way with 24 points and nine rebounds. LeBron James also played well with 23 points and nine assists.
Los Angeles MVP:
No one on the Clippers played that well in this one, but Blake Griffin led the way scoring-wise with 16 points and eight rebounds. DeAndre Jordan also had eight points on just four shots to go along with 14 rebounds.
