The Cleveland Cavaliers clearly did not develop any rust during the All-Star break as they came out on fire in this one, taking a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never relinquishing it. Washington went on a few mini-runs in the second and third quarter, but the Cavs responded each time and turned this into a blowout.
Key Stat:
The biggest disparity in this game came from behind the three-point line. Cleveland was scorching hot all night, shooting 14-33 (42.4%) from long-range. It was a different story for the Wizards, who made just one three all night on 16 attempts.
Cleveland also scored 33 points off of 18 Washington turnovers.
Cleveland MVP:
LeBron James totally controlled this game, scoring 28 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out six assists in just three quarters of action. Kyrie Irving also played well, wowing the crowd with several creative finishes on his way to a 25-point night.
Washington MVP:
John Wall played extremely well in this one (18 points, nine assists), but unfortunately none of his teammates stepped up in Bradley Beal's absence.
