It was already very, very heavily rumored that the Cleveland Cavaliers were looking to trade out of the top spot of one of the weakest draft classes in recent memory. Now, those rumblings are becoming more concreate.
Last night the website HoopsWorld.com reported that the Cavs offered the top pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves, plus Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters, for Wolves star forward Kevin Love. Minnesota understandably declined.
Then again today, HoopsWorld.com is reporting that Cleveland offered the pick to New Orleans for Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez and the Pelicans' 2014 first-round pick. This would be quite a sweet deal for the Cavs, as the 2014 draft is expected to be as loaded as this years is dry, and who wouldn't want an extra first round pick? But that's exactly the reason New Orleans will probably decline, or at least re-negotiate.
