In a breaking story from the land of Cavs rumors on early Thursday morning, the Cleveland Cavaliers have inquired about a potential trade for Orlando Magic point guard Victor Oladipo - likely involving a swap of Cleveland's #1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft for Orlando's #4 overall selection.
Here's the skinny from Fox Sports Ohio's Sam Amico:

While the conversation is still firmly in the "exploratory" stages, the Cavs' interest in Oladipo could be very real - especially if they can find a creative way to utilize incumbent starting point guard Kyrie Irving and Oladipo while ensuring that each get the minutes they need to be of full value to the team.
The other draw that Oladipo may have for Cleveland is his rookie contract which would give the Cavs three years of full control plus a restricted free agent tag on the Magic guard for the 2017-18 season.
Additionally, USA Today is reporting that the Magic are very interested in moving up into the top three of the draft - perhaps making Oladipo expendable as a trade asset.
Such a move for Cleveland could be construed as finding insurance for a potential Kyrie Irving departure, or as a way of stockpiling a wealth of assets for the Cavaliers to use as trade chips down the road.
Either way, it's another intriguing possibility in a draft full of them.
