In today's Cavs rumors and news update, the Cleveland Cavaliers executed part one of their big picture plan by gaining a five-year commitment from star point guard Kyrie Irving.
Now, with things looking more and more unsure in Miami, could LeBron James very well be part two?
According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, "when the Miami Heat's "Big 3" went their separate ways after a lunch meeting last Wednesday, they went not knowing whether they had played their last game together, according to sources with knowledge of the situation."
"While Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were committed to returning to the Heat, LeBron James was unsure of what he would do, the sources said."
Earlier reports have placed the Cleveland Cavaliers as one of a handful of teams James would actually consider if he decided to leave Pat Riley, Erik Spoelstra, and the rest of his support system in Miami.
Irving's signing could very well help the Cavs' chances when it comes to pitching LeBron on a return. Add in a potential pull on his heartstrings when it comes to coming home, along with the ability and assets to pull off a blockbuster trade, and the Cavaliers have as good a shot as anyone if LeBron indeed opts to test the waters of free agency.
