In today's look into Cavs rumors surrounding the beginning of the 2014 NBA free agency period, one NBA analyst believes that, despite reports to the contrary, that the Cleveland Cavaliers are at the bottom of LeBron James' free agency wishlist.
Per Josh Hill of All U Can Heat, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders believes that the Cavs need to pursue other options in free agency - putting a LeBron return on the level of pipe dream at this point:
The Cavs are not getting LeBron James… so you can speculate on the 90 things you can say, but the Cavs are light years away from a championship and that’s all that matters to LeBron.
Off all the teams that could get LeBron the Cavs are likely last on the list. Focus on what you have and that’s a promising young team. LeBron has moved on, so should you.
In truth, the tenor of this analysis might be a little too exacting for the actual scenario unfolding.
Multiple reports have indicated that there is at least an inkling of interest from LeBron when it comes to doing things right in Cleveland for a second time around.
While the Heat might be far and away the favorites to retain his services, don't discount the Cavs - or any suitor for that matter - until they are officially crossed off of his list.
