Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will be participating in the Three-Point Contest All-Star Saturday Night in New York City.
He will be joining Golden State's Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, Atlanta's Kyle Korver, Portland's Wesley Matthews, and the Clippers' J.J. Redick in the competition.
Irving will be playing in his third All-Star game and participating in his fourth three-point shootout. He won the event in 2013.
Irving is shooting 40.9 percent from three this season and drained 11 three-pointers during his 55-point game last week, one short of tying the NBA record.
As impressive as Irving's resume is, he's only the fourth most efficient shooter in the contest. Korver is shooting 53.7 percent (on pace to break his own NBA record), Thompson is at 44.8, and Redick is shooting 43.3. Matthews leads the league in three-pointers made this season, and Curry is widely considered to be the best pure shooter in the game today.
