Dion Waiters is relishing his opportunity for a fresh start with the Oklahoma City Thunder after feeling "held back" by the Cleveland Cavs from showing his true potential with Kyrie Irving and LeBron James taking up a majority of the offense's focus.
"I knew something was going to happen with everything that was going on with the way we were playing," Waiters said of the team's struggles before the trade, via Yahoo! Sports. "I just knew. I just sensed it."

Waiters' reputation suffered from reported clashes with Kyrie Irving and previous qualms with being relegated to a bench role. However, he hopes the Thunder are will to bypass the noise and focus on what he brings to the table.
"You can't judge a book by its cover until you open up and read it," Waiters said. There are going be a million stories out there, true or not true. I say get to know me first before you judge me. Once that takes care of itself, everything else will fall into place."
Waiters is averaging career lows in scoring (10.5 ppg), assists (2.2 apg), and three-point shooting percentage (25.6 percent) so far in 2014-15.
