The Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged as the frontrunners to sign center Kendrick Perkins, according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Perkins was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline, but the Jazz will buyout his contract, making him a free agent. He hasn't made a commitment with the Cavs, but he is "leaning towards" signing with Cleveland.
Perkins would provide frontcourt depth for the Cavs, being fourth in their big man rotation behind starters Kevin Love and Timofey Mozgov and sixth man Tristan Thompson.
