The NBA trade deadline is just days away, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been active in trade talks as they try to improve their roster to keep pace with the other title contenders. While most of their trade talks have centered around acquiring role players, there are rumors that they are shopping star forward Kevin Love. If the Cavs do indeed end up trading Love, where could he end up? Here are the 4 most likely potential trade destinations for Kevin Love:
4) New York Knicks
Cleveland and New York have already discussed a potential Love-for-Carmelo swap, and though talks didn't progress because of Anthony's unwillingness to waive his no-trade clause, it showed that the Knicks do have a lot of interest in Love. They may not have the assets to get a deal done, but they are trying.
3) Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks are preparing to break up their core group and have made Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver, and Al Horford all available for a trade. Cleveland has already expressed interest in a potential deal for Korver, but if they want to get rid of Love, why not get Korver AND Horford in return? Horford could fill Love's role in Cleveland's offense with Korver adding more shooting, while Love would have an increased role on a contender.
2) Houston Rockets
It's no secret that the Rockets are shopping star center Dwight Howard, hoping to get something of value in return since Howard plans to opt-out of his contract after this season. Cleveland hasn't been directly linked to Howard, Love is someone who would perfectly fit into Houston's up-tempo system. A straight up Howard-for-Love swap is one of the more intriguing possibilities at the deadline.
1) Boston Celtics
If anyone is going to make a trade for Love, it's going to be the Celtics. They have an abundance of talented young players and a giant amount of first-round draft picks, while also expressing their desire for a star player they think will make them a true contender. Boston has identified Love as a player that would fit that mold, and they have all the assets to provide the Cavs with whatever they want in return.
