Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love has opted out of his contract, making himself an unrestricted free agent come July 1. There is no doubt that Love was unhappy during his first season with the Cavs after repeated clashes with LeBron James and head coach David Blatt, spurring speculation he'd opt out of this contract to sign somewhere else. Now that he has, who is he most likely to sign with?
4) New York Knicks
Love's versatility would make him a perfect fit for the Triangle offense in New York, and give the Knicks another star to pair with Carmelo Anthony. Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher will have to sell him that the lowly Knicks can be contenders with him on the roster, but the Knicks will certainly put the full-court press on signing him.
3) Boston Celtics
Boston was in the race to trade for Kevin Love before the Cavs got him last year, but now they have the cap space to sign him outright. The Celtics have been trying to land a superstar that can take their team to the next level, and they've identified Love as one of the guys they think can do just that.
2) Los Angeles Lakers
Love played his one season of college basketball at UCLA, and there have been rumors over the past two seasons that he'd love to join the Lakers. Los Angeles certainly has the cap space and the desire to sign him, and they'll offer him a max contract and the opportunity to be the next cornerstone of an up-and-coming Lakers team.
1) Cleveland Cavaliers
Despite this move, Love has insisted that he'll be playing for the Cavs next season, and with the salary cap expected to skyrocket in 2016, reports indicate that he'll sign a one-year deal with Cleveland. He has said he wants to give the "Big 3" experiment more than one season to work, but it will also allow him to test free agency next year and make even more money.
