3 Players The Cleveland Cavaliers Can Still Sign In Free Agency

The Cleveland Cavaliers have already had a busy offseason and free agency. Despite operating without GM David Griffin, the Cavs have re-signed Kyle Korver and added both Jose Calderon and Jeff Green. However, the Cavs could still add another player or two if they're willing to sign on the cheap.

There are more than just three players the Cavs could sign, but we've narrowed it down. That also excludes re-signing players (like Derrick Williams), though it does include some potential free agents. Here are three players the Cavs could still add in free agency.

1) Tony Allen

If Tony Allen is willing to sign for the veteran minimum, he'd be a huge pickup for the Cavs as they try to figure out how to defend the Warriors. The 35-year-old can't shoot and won't help Cleveland offensively, but they don't need it. Allen would play a minor role off the bench, but would be a hugely valuable asset in the playoffs as one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game last season for the Memphis Grizzlies.

2) Thabo Sefolosha

Another defensive signing, Sefolosha isn't as good of a defender as Allen, but he has developed a decent three-point shot and is much bigger. The 33-year-old is also clearly on the downside of his career, but for the veteran minimum, his defensive versatility would make him an intriguing addition for Cleveland. He averaged 7.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season for the Atlanta Hawks.

3) Ersan Ilyasova

Cleveland has shown a desire to simply load up on shooters (particularly with their bench unit) in order to space the floor for LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, and Ilyasova would be another signing in that mold. Ilyasova has played on five teams in the last two years, but is a career 36.6 percent three-point shooter, and would benefit from playing in Cleveland's system. Last year, he averaged 13.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers.
