What Joe Thomas' optimism tells us about the Cleveland Browns: Bud vs. Doug

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Joe Thomas seems happy.

The Browns have started OTAs, but even before that, the Browns future Hall of Fame left tackle was checking in with some sunny thoughts about second-year quarterback Cody Kessler.

"I think Cody Kessler is going to make huge improvement in his second year," Thomas said, before explaining the natural steps a second-year quarterback should make.

Thomas has taken care of his business for 10 years, starting all 160 games. In those games, the Browns are 48-112. He's done his job, but he's been part of a team that averaged fewer than five wins were season.
