CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Jimmy Haslam wasn't making an NFL New Year's resolution back on Jan. 3 after firing Mike Pettine and Ray Farmer. It was more of a warning.
"We are not going to go out and spend a gazillion dollars in free agency," Haslam said that night in the bowels of FirstEnergy Stadium. "We are going to build through the draft because we are firmly convinced that is the right way to do it."
During the NFL Scouting Combine, head coach Hue Jackson emphasized drafting.
"I think to build a sustainable team, it's going to start in the draft room," Jackson said.
