Johnny Manziel has been a lightning rod for criticism since becoming a first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2014.
The former Texas A&M star and Heisman Trophy winner has played in 13 games as a pro, starting six and winning two.
He has also made off-the-field news, going to rehab last February for the treatment of alcohol addiction. Manziel was pulled over in October after a fight with his girlfriend and admitted to police he had been drinking. A video was also released showing Manziel partying during the Browns' bye week.
