Every season is made up of several storylines. If all the stories work out in the club's favor, they could have a successful season. If not, things could go bad in a hurry. This was the case for the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
Their top storyline centered around rookie head coach Freddie Kitchens and how he would handle a team full of big egos and even larger aspirations. Following a 5-3 finish to the prior campaign, the Browns had a lot of eyes on them and Kitchens was the big unknown.
Hand-picked by general manager John Dorsey, Kitchens was supposed to be the calming voice for the team and his play-calling was expected to be similar to what he showed down the stretch in 2018.
