CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns haven’t had much success as a team since returning in 1999. They’ve had standout players here and there, but never enough all at once to become a consistent playoff contender. Maybe if you took the best Browns players at each position since 1999 you could put together a decent team.
But who would be on that team? I tried to figure that out.
I combed through rosters and considered a number of criteria, including stats, longevity with the team, post-season awards and Pro Football Reference’s approximate value (which you can try to understand here).
