Tashaun Gipson says Browns letting him, 3 other key free agents depart confuses him as much as fans

Former Browns free safety Tashaun Gipson laughed and paused for several seconds Thursday when he was asked why there has been a mass exodus from his former team.

"The pause says everything, man," Gipson said during his introductory news conference with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Browns let four starters slip away Wednesday at the onset of free agency: Gipson, three-time Pro Bowl center Alex Mack (Atlanta Falcons), right tackle Mitchell Schwartz (Kansas City Chiefs) and wide receiver and punt returner Travis Benjamin (San Diego Chargers).

A 2014 Pro Bowl selection, Gipson repeatedly insisted last season he wanted to return to the Browns, who signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2012.
