It was just so “Browns.” The team name has become an adjective, and it means something all too familiar to its fans.
It isn’t as much a surprise as it is, perhaps, being impressed at the consistency, albeit in the worst way. But it happened again — one of the “Brownsiest” moments since the team came back in 1999 in a 33-27 loss to the Baltimore Ravens at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Lining up for a potential game-winning field goal on the final play of the game, which would have completed an improbable comeback in a sloppy game between two poor teams that never should have been featured on prime-time television in the first place, the Browns might have pulled one out, giving tired fans a rare chance to celebrate and return home in a good mood.
