CINCINNATI, Ohio – Randy Starks leveled Bengals' running back Gio Bernard after a 1-yard gain, but couldn't just let his play speak for itself.
The Browns' defensive lineman hovered over his opponent a bit too long and celebrated a bit too loud, a demonstration that drew a flag early in the second quarter of Cleveland's 31-10 loss at Paul Brown Stadium.
The moment symbolized the Browns' defense in 2015 – penalized again for too much talking. Officials hit the 12-year veteran with a 15-yard taunting penalty. It was the first of two costly and uncharacteristic infractions committed by Starks on a 14-play, 80-yard drive that ended in a Bengals' touchdown.
