BEREA: Akron native Shaquille Riddick believes football is all about challenges. So what could be a daunting switch from college defensive end to NFL outside linebacker actually excites him.
He never spent a down at linebacker during his career, which concluded with one season at West Virginia after three at Gardner-Webb University. But Riddick, a graduate of Akron Early College High School who played three sports for Buchtel, knew the change was possible because of his weight. So as he prepared for the draft at EXOS in Pensacola, Fla., he trained for it.
