The business of the NFL is booming. Five or ten years ago it would have been unthinkable that quarterbacks would be making over $45 million a year and wide receivers would be making over $30 million a season.
On the first Monday of June, WR Justin Jefferson signed a contract that will have him averaging $35 million a season, the most among non-QBs in the league. For reference, QB Tom Brady never had an Average Per Year (APY) of more than $25 million.
Just a few years ago, the Cleveland Browns signed DE Myles Garrett to a huge contract extension that included $100 million in guaranteed money.
