CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Jerome Lane Jr.'s plans for his return to Ohio were so far off that he requires a mulligan in football. His play before a host of family and friends at FirstEnergy Stadium at Monday night's preseason game between the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns fell short of expectations.
"I wish I could've caught five or six touchdowns because my family and friends were in the crowd supporting me," Lane said. "But the chips fell how they did and I have to just keeping focusing on the process I'm on now."
Lane, a native of Akron, is an undrafted free agent wide receiver for the Giants and can't afford any more sub-par games like Monday's 10-6 Browns victory if he wants a spot on the final roster.
