BEREA, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns entered free agency looking to upgrade every level of their defense. This month, Cleveland accomplished just that, with key free-agent additions at safety (John Johnson III), defensive end (Takkarist McKinley), defensive tackle (Malik Jackson), nickelback (Troy Hill) and linebacker (Anthony Walker Jr.).
Cleveland’s first pickup of free agency was its most important one.
On the first day of the legal tampering period, the Browns agreed to terms with Johnson on a three-year deal worth $33.75 million, including $24 million guaranteed.
