CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Browns cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun's response to the hit rookie safety Jabrill Peppers' put on Bengals wide receiver Josh Malone was simple.
"Don't change a thing, don't change nothing," Boddy-Calhoun said. "As a corner, that's what we want our free safety to do and he did teach technique right there."
Peppers was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a third-and-5 throw from Andy Dalton that Malone would have hauled in with one hand were it not for a hit from Peppers. Peppers was flagged for unnecessary roughness and replays showed Peppers helmet made contact with Malone's facemask, but reaction on social media was swift in favor of Peppers.
