BEREA: Browns coach Mike Pettine threw one of his best players under the bus, at least for 48 hours.
Pettine is a defensive coach, his defense has been gashed for 30 plays of 17 or more yards in four games and the man he chose to direct it is one of his best friends.
Fans constantly complain via social media that Pettine, known as “Blunt Force Trauma” for his honesty, is too stoic on the sideline.
His team is 1-3 and faces teams that reached the 2014 playoffs in seven of the next eight games, starting with Sunday’s AFC North opener in Baltimore.
