Berea: Cornerback Najee Murray is one of the longest of long shots to get a tryout with the Browns.

The 5-foot-9, 182-pound former Kent State standout comes from a community, Steubenville, entrenched in football and, despite not being drafted, he will get the opportunity to pursue his dream.

Initially recruited by Ohio State, Murray transferred in 2013 and enjoyed a successful career in the Mid-American Conference, making All-MAC in his senior season after ranking ninth nationally in passes defensed.

Before Saturday’s practice, Murray said he’s taking the opportunity to learn. As a player on a tryout, he will have to take advantage of any chance he gets.
