CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As recently as last fall, Josh Cribbs was still fantasizing about the Browns signing him to jump start their sluggish return game.
His old special teams coach, Chris Tabor, was still on the job, and surely Cribbs could help. Despite two seasons out of football, he remained in great shape and hoped the phone might ring.
But on Wednesday, the former Kent State quarterback finally came to grips with the end of his career. He officially retired as a Brown and is ready to let it go.
"Knowing the legacy I left behind playing in the NFL, playing for the Browns, it was kind of a difficult pill to swallow,'' Cribbs told clevelandbrowns.
