CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns left tackle Joe Thomas' agent Sunday called a report that Thomas asked the Browns to explore a trade "a complete fabrication.''
He also said it's "100% false'' that the deal with Denver broke down because the Broncos refused to guarantee Thomas' salaries in 2016 and 2017.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Thomas asked the Browns "to see what was out there'' and that the deal fell through because Denver wouldn't guarantee Thomas' salaries of $8.3 million in 2016 and $8.8 million in 2017.
"At no time were there any discussions whatsoever about Joe's contract in any way,'' Peter Schaffer told cleveland.
