Joe Schobert embracing his role in middle of Browns defense

BEREA, Ohio -- Joe Schobert started the play on Sunday right in the middle of the field. It was second-and-15 early in the second quarter and Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger handed off to running back Le'Veon Bell, running right.

By the time the play was over, Schobert had made the tackle halfway between the sideline and the numbers, stopping Bell for a 3-yard gain. Two plays later, the Steelers punted.

Schobert was actually lined up outside on that particular play -- he mixed in a number of plays outside throughout the game -- but Schobert spends most of his time these days in the middle after a rookie season -- and a college career -- as an outside linebacker in the 3-4.
