CLEVELAND -- One of the best results from the frenzy of Cleveland Browns draft day trades is what the Browns gained for the future, owner Jimmy Haslam said Monday.
"We got a lot of players," Haslam said of the machinations. "Equally as important, we've positioned ourselves well for the next two drafts."
Five trades gained the Browns nine players in this year's draft, and valuable high picks in 2017 and '18. The Browns have two first-round picks and two second-round picks in 2017, and two second-round picks in 2018.
The trades came after Haslam pointed out that the Browns had the second pick in the draft and discussed the need for a quarterback the day the 2015 season ended.
