The Cleveland Browns traded for quarterback Deshaun Watson in March of 2022 knowing that there were risks involved in the deal.
The first was related to his off-the-field conduct with the Houston Texans, which would ultimately result in an 11-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

The second was the $230 million, fully guaranteed contract the club gave Watson to entice him to waive his no-trade clause and come to Cleveland.
