BEREA, Ohio – Nobody needed to educate Andrew Hawkins on the potential long-term impact of concussions.
About five years ago, the Browns receiver conducted extensive research on the topic with hopes of making the kind of movie Hollywood plans to release next month starring Will Smith.
But as the NFL braces for the release of "Concussion" – which portrays a forensic pathologist's fight against the league's effort to discredit his findings on repeated head trauma -- Hawkins is recovering from his second concussion in a month. The diminutive receiver and his teammates have become all too familiar with their effects.
