BEREA, Ohio - Browns quarterback Cody Kessler was listed at 6-foot-1, 215 pounds last season. It's the same weight he is listed at this week during OTAs.
But Kessler said Wednesday that he is probably a couple pounds heavier. And most importantly, those extra pounds are muscle. Kessler explained that he did a lot of core and lower-body work in the weight room, along with working on his mechanics. The result has been more zip on his passes.
But perhaps the biggest commitment he had to make in improving his performance was with his diet. Kessler ate the same thing for about three months, and he said it helped him reach his fitness goals.
