Cleveland Browns quarterback Garrett Gilbert showed everyone on Saturday afternoon just how to take advantage of an opportunity.
With quarterback Baker Mayfield getting the day off after a solid week of practice, Gilbert started Cleveland’s exhibition game against the Indianapolis Colts. He played the entire first half, and while just about every one of the team’s top offensive playmakers were on the sidelines, Gilbert had himself a nice day.
Gilbert, who has three career pass attempts in an NFL regular season game, led the Browns on a pair of touchdown drives (covering 64 yards and 75 yards) and finished off his afternoon having completed 13-of-19 passes for 151 yards, a pair of touchdown passes and a quarterback rating of 127.
