CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former Browns linebacker Clay Matthews has another chance to join his brother, Bruce, in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
And someday, they might both welcome Matthews' son, Clay Matthews III, the six-time Pro Bowl linebacker for the Packers.
Matthews, who played for the Browns from 1978-1993 and the Falcons from 1994-96, advanced to the semifinal round for the second time for the first time since becoming eligible in 2002. The first time was in 2012.
Both times, Matthews made the initial cut to 25 (26 this year because of a tie). In 2012, he was eliminated in the reduction to 15 by the Hall's 46 selectors.
