BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns sent a clear message on Tuesday about the future of their quarterback position, and it doesn't look great for their rookie quarterback. Regardless of who messed up what side of the paperwork to push a deal through that would have sent AJ McCarron to the Browns for a package of draft picks, the Browns sent a clear message with their failed trade: they don't believe they can win -- at least not right now -- with DeShone Kizer.
As for the longterm, McCarron is 27 years old and a restricted free agent after the season.
