CLEVELAND: Joe Thomas looked around for someone to hug.
The Browns’ 10-year veteran left tackle believes he had tears in his eyes.
After the Browns’ previously winless season ended with a 20-17 victory over the San Diego Chargers Saturday in FirstEnergy Stadium, the player who has suffered the longest as a member of the struggling franchise was overcome with happiness.
“There was a genuine feeling of joy. The Christmas spirit was amongst us, for sure,” Thomas said.
Those feelings carried over into the locker room, and Thomas wondered why they were so strong.
“It was really emotional,” Thomas said.
