The trouble for Johnny Manziel intensified late Friday night when the Dallas Police Department announced it has begun a criminal investigation into the actions of the former Browns quarterback.
The announcement came six days after ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley accused the former Heisman Trophy winner of beating her and threatening to end both of their lives in Dallas.
Earlier Friday, a Tarrant County District Court judge signed a protective order to keep Manziel away from Crowley for two years and ordered him to pay $12,000 in legal fees, Dallas TV station WFAA reported. According to the report, the judge stated, “the court finds there is reason to believe that family violence occurred.
