The Cleveland Browns defense has been mangled with injuries and suspensions this season, hurting the overall effectiveness of the unit. But one positive out of the chaos on the defensive side of the ball has been the emergence of Sheldon Richardson as a leader.
Richardson was a big addition for the Browns in the offseason because he would help solidify the interior of the defensive line. Oftentimes in 2018 the interior would get bullied and allowed opponents to run all over the Browns defense.
However, during the middle of the season with Myles Garrett suspended and Olivier Vernon off the field with injuries, Richardson was forced to step up and become a leader on the defensive line.
